The Asheville Citizen-Times reports that the White House has confirmed President Obama’s appearance at the Asheville Regional Airport on Monday, October 17, 2011. This is the beginning of his three-day, two-state American Jobs Act bus tour.
The public may obtain free tickets on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 4:30 pm on Sunday, October 16, at Gate Six of the WNC Agricultural Center on Fanning Bridge Road. A ticket is required for entry to the event.
The president will arrive at Asheville Regional Airport on Air Force One. Doors to the venue open at 8:00 am, and the program begins at 10:50 am. All attendees will go through airport-like security, and no bags, signs, banners, umbrellas, liquids or sharp objects will be allowed through security. Cameras and cell phones are permitted.
