Biden and Harris in NC: Making Healthcare More Available & Affordable (BCDP Weekly, April 3rd)

Through landmark legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden administration has reduced prescription drug costs and made quality health care more affordable.

Some excerpts from Vice President Kamala Harris' remarks here in North Carolina last week (link to full transcript below):

"While President Biden and I are fighting to expand access to affordable healthcare, there are extremists in our country trying to take away healthcare coverage or make it more expensive — extremists who want to take away coverage from our seniors by trying to cut Social Security and Medicare.  They want to take away coverage from working families by trying to gut Medicaid.  And they want to take away coverage from people with preexisting conditions by continuously trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act."

"And across our nation, extremists attack a woman’s access to healthcare and reproductive healthcare.  They have proposed and passed laws that criminalize doctors and punish women."

"Access to healthcare should be a right and not just a privilege no matter who you are, where you live, or how much you earn.  ...And President Biden, with your support, will continue to make sure that everyone in our country has the healthcare they need."

VP Harris and President Biden’s remarks on Tuesday made the stakes clear: Republicans voted against making life-saving care and medicine more accessible. We need to send a Congress to Washington that will continue the fight to lower prescription drug costs -- one more reason to join Caleb Rudow's campaign for the 11th U.S. Congressional District!
