A Note From Kristen Robinson, BCDP First Vice Chair
Hello Buncombe County Democrats! If I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet, my name is Kristen Robinson and I'm excited (and happy!) to serve as your newly elected 1st Vice Chair for Buncombe Dems.
A little about me – I was born and raised right here in WNC, where I grew up just over the border in Madison County. I'm an AB Tech and UNC-Charlotte alumnus, and I'm currently working to earn my Master's of Public Affairs from Western Carolina University. Since 2018, I've been working to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, and I can't wait to work alongside each and everyone of you to elect even more Democrats next year!
This year my main focus is to win every competitive election we have. That means defending Rep. Lindsey Prather’s district which has been gerrymandered to a toss-up district (and will be the one of the most competitive house districts in the state), keeping our county commission blue, and continuing to increase voter turnout in Buncombe County so we can elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
In order to win these elections, we must come together to help bridge the gap between community members and our local Democratic party. That means knocking doors, calling your neighbors, registering voters, throwing social events, hosting meet and greets with candidates, and much more! You’ve heard us say it time and time again, but 2024 will require all hands on deck in order to ensure a thriving democracy – and I already see you hard at work! We’ve started knocking on doors to talk with our neighbors ahead of the 2024 election, and I encourage you to join us on November 11th at 1pm for our next canvassing training.
So hop in Democrats, we’re making sure Buncombe County stays blue!
In solidarity,
Kristen Robinson
First Vice Chair, Buncombe County Democratic Party
