Plan Your 2024

As 2023 wraps up, we're already hard at work for the big election year ahead, and we need your help. Looking for ways to get involved or new ways to plug in? Over the next few weeks, we'll be featuring ways to use your skills to promote Democratic values in our community.

Building up our precincts

Strong, organized precincts are the foundation of the Democratic Party. They help drive turnout and make sure voters are informed when they reach the polls. We've set a goal to organize all 80 precincts in Buncombe, and we're almost there, but we need your help to cross the finish line. Live in precincts 15.1, 19.1, 24.1, 35.1, 37.1, 43.2, 46.1, 47.1, 49.1? Reply to this email and we'll connect you with other local Dems to help you get started.

Already live in a precinct that's organized? There's still more you can do! Get together with your neighbors for regular meetings, recruit new volunteers, and make plans for activities to build the volunteer base through the election year.

Voter contact efforts

With our new districts and a number of tight statewide races, maximizing voter turnout in 2024 will be critical for Democratic success in Buncombe and beyond. We'll be hosting regular phone bank and door knocking opportunities all year to make sure we are speaking with as many of our neighbors and community members as possible before Election Day.

Run for office

Want to serve your community as an elected official? Filing opens Monday, December 4 at 12 p.m. and runs through Friday, December 15 at 12 p.m. for offices ranging from Governor to Asheville City Council. Thinking about running? Reply to this email for more information.

Action Item

Save the date for our 2024 Kick-off event! On January 20, 2024 we'll gather for an evening of fun, food, and entertainment to set the tone for a successful election year.

Show us your strong support by becoming a sponsor, which will help ensure our success at the polls and ensure the future of our democracy. We're an all-volunteer organization, and we rely on contributions to keep the lights on at headquarters, print materials for canvassing and poll greeting, and all the other activities that are critical to maximizing voter turnout in November.
