Make Your Plan To Vote!

Make a plan for when you’re going to head to the polls. North Carolina's new Voter ID law is in effect, so take your valid photo ID.  If you lost your photo ID because of Hurricane Helene, you can indicate "natural disaster" on the ID Exception Form that will be provided to you at the polls, and you'll still be allowed to vote!

Consider reaching out to friends and family, especially those who haven’t voted before, and invite them to join you when you go to the polls. It’s highly recommended that you vote early from October 17 - November 2 to avoid precinct restrictions and long lines at the polls. Early Voting will also allow time to solve any problems that may arise.

If you will be out of Buncombe County during Early Voting and Election Day, you can request an absentee-by-mail ballot. If you return to Buncombe in time to vote in person, please do that and then destroy your absentee ballot.

Interested in Canvassing? Stay Tuned!

We have been working closely with the Harris-Walz campaign on an alternative canvassing plan for reaching Democratic supporters in those neighborhoods that have been least impacted in Buncombe County. Email Meredith Anderson at manderson@2024victory.com or text/call her at 919-280-5850 if you'd like to be added to our list of possible canvassers. You will receive updates shortly!

Rides to the Polls

The Buncombe County Democratic Party wants to make sure that everyone who wants to cast their vote in person can do so. We have volunteers offering a ride to the polls.

- If you need a ride to a poll site in Buncombe County, please call Rhona at (828) 231-1365.

- If you live in a public housing community, please watch for bright yellow flyers being distributed in your neighborhoods - these flyers will provide information on rides being offered every afternoon during Early Voting.
