Become a Poll Observer

Poll observers are needed for the 2024 elections! Each political party appoints poll observers to monitor election sites during early voting and, most importantly, on Election Day. Poll observers serve a critical role during elections and help to ensure that our elections are both free and fair.

Each poll observer volunteer agrees to serve at least one 4-hour shift (chairs to sit in will be available), and the role is simply to observe the voting proceedings and report any concerns to our operations team. Buncombe County Board of Elections will schedule a training soon for poll observers.

If you, or somebody you know, might be interested in being a poll observer, please contact BCDP First Vice Chair Kristen Robinson (kristen@buncombedems.org).
