This event is for anyone wanting to honor the more than 120 lives cut short and the hundreds more wounded by gun violence every day. All who care about gun violence or have been personally touched by it — whether as a direct victims, friends, surviving family, shooting survivors, those affected by suicide, etc. — are invited to attend. Members of BIPOC communities are especially encouraged to participate.
Wear Orange is a family-friendly event honoring victims of gun violence. Speakers will include several Buncombe County Commissioners sharing how gun violence has personally affected them and the wider Asheville community. In addition to tables hosted by local organizations and businesses showing support for survivors and their friends and family, there will be kid-friendly activities, crafts, and food vendors. We look forward to commemorating the 10th annual Wear Orange Weekend with you!
