Buncombe Commission: History Made!
On December 2nd, the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners held its swearing-in ceremonies.
Congratulations to new District 1 Commissioner Jennifer Horton, the first Black woman to serve on the Commission and Amanda Edwards, the first woman to serve as Commission Chair.
Commissioner Martin Moore was unanimously selected as Buncombe County Board of Commissioners Vice Chair and Commissioners Terri Wells and Parker Sloan were also sworn in for new terms.

Justice Riggs Wins; Additional Recount Underway
After counting provisional and absentee ballots, and a subsequent recount requested by her opponent, Justice Allison Riggs has emerged triumphant in her run to retain her seat as North Carolina Supreme Court Associate Justice Seat 06, now by more than 700 votes!
