DNC Excitement as Harris & Walz Take the Stage in Chicago! (BCDP Weekly)
Democratic National Convention 2024:
This year’s Democratic National Convention (DNC) is underway in Chicago. The party will formally nominate Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as our 2024 Presidential Ticket. In a virtual roll call earlier this month, the Harris-Walz ticket received enough delegates to secure the Democratic nomination.
The Harris-Walz ticket has a proven track record of fighting for Americans no matter where you’re from. Rural, urban, or anywhere in between, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for workers and unions, for women's reproductive freedom, and to ensure that we are taking care of each other. They are working to ensure our LGBTQ+ friends are protected and continuing the fight for access to affordable healthcare. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are fighting for all of us!

Democrats have a lot of great things to say this year, so Kamala Harris' DNC acceptance speech will likely happen after the Asheville Pizza & Brewing (AP&B) location on Merrimon Ave. closes by 10pm on Thursday. If you've already signed up to attend, we'll have a great time together at AP&B for lots of the DNC activities. You can then head over to Buncombe County Democratic Party HQ at 951 Old Fairview Rd for the Kamala Harris Acceptance Speech! If you haven't signed up for the AP&B location, or wish to switch, join us at BCDP HQ for the finale or the whole event (doors open at 6:30).
Pizza and snacks at BCDP HQ are courtesy of the Harris-Walz Coordinated Campaign. We may even have Buncombe's own DNC Delegates reporting live from the convention floor in Chicago via zoom at both locations, sharing the excitement leading up to the Harris speech!
