GOP Supermajority in NC Says It's OK to Choose Their Own Voters Via Gerrymandering (BCDP Weekly)
North Carolina Republicans are now claiming that it’s impossible to define what “fair” means, so that means there’s no such thing as “fair elections.”
That shakes the foundations of our democracy. We need to break the Republican supermajority and demand a legislature elected by the people, not with legislators choosing their electorate. And we must elect judges who will bring balance and fairness to our courts.

Get to Know the Candidates
Our Precincts and Clusters are working to give you opportunities to meet and talk directly with our Democratic candidates. Keep an eye on the BCDP Calendar at buncombedems.org/calendar (generally updated twice weekly so check back often) and see below in this newsletter for this week's events near you.
For example, in Weaverville on Friday June 28, North Buncombe Dems/Left-leaning Unaffiliateds and others can meet and hear from candidates Lindsey Prather for NC House 115; Caleb Rudow for US Congress; Amanda Edwards for Buncombe County Commission Chair; and Terri Wells for Buncombe County Commission District 2. More on this event and signup here.
Canvass-Lovers: Let's Hear from You
If you love canvassing, please send an email with a few sentences about why you enjoy it to terri@buncombedems.org -- we may choose it as a testimonial or feature it in a future newsletter (using first name and last initial). Or make an approximately 20-40 second video telling us what you love most about knocking doors and talking to people.
If you haven't tried doorknocking before (or haven't done it recently), sign up for our next canvassing launch on July 6th. You may find it the most rewarding and effective thing you can do to make sure people vote blue this election!
