Stein Fights for Women’s Rights
As reproductive rights face unprecedented challenges across the country, Governor Josh Stein has remained a steadfast champion for women’s healthcare in North Carolina. CEC Meeting: Election for BCDP Chair, Provisional 1st Vice-Chair, and State Executive Committee
In addition to our regular Monthly Meeting on February 15th, a County Executive Committee (CEC) meeting will start at 10am (doors open at 9am for registration) at BCDP Headquarters.
We expect to be voting for BCDP Chair, possibly a provisional First Vice Chair, and for three currently vacant State Executive Committee seats. For information on the requirements and duties for these positions, see the NC Democratic Party Plan of Organization. If you wish to run for any of these positions, please contact Denise Marecki at denise@buncombedems.org.
Eligible to Vote:
- BCDP Chairs and Vice-Chairs of organized precincts
- County Executive Committee elected or assigned
- Presidents of duly organized and chartered chapters of state affiliated organizations
- State Executive Committee Members in good standing
- State, General Assembly, County or Municipal Democratic elected officials residing in Buncombe County
- NC 11 District Executive Board Members, elected or assigned, residing in Buncombe County
- Attorney assigned by BCDP Executive members.
Those who serve in multiple roles get only one vote.
The BCDP Chair election will be chaired by Second Vice Chair Denise Marecki, as Interim Chair Kristen Robinson is running for the position. Those eligible to vote in this election will receive notification with relevant information.
