Walz Barnstorms Buncombe! (BCDP Weekly)

Despite yesterday's rain, Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz held a high-energy rally in Asheville. Walz made it clear: he and Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris are here for Western North Carolina!

Speaking to a capacity crowd at the Salvage Station, Walz addressed the threat of a Republican repeal of the Affordable Care Act and how women are losing control over their healthcare choices. On Project 2025, he said: "If somebody takes the time to create a playbook, the football coach in me knows they're going to run the plays." He criticized his opponents for "creating stories to drum up support for themselves," especially falsehoods targeting immigrants.

Walz outlined the Harris-Walz ticket's plans for the future, including: funding public education, keeping guns out of schools, supporting home buyers, ensuring freedom to love who you love, restoring reproductive rights, fighting price gouging and many other parts of their vision.

Quoting Kamala Harris, he said: "The mark of leadership isn't who you can tear down, it's who you can lift up."

Judicial Races Matter

What does having a huge Republican majority on the courts mean? Instead of fairness, we're seeing what appear to be partisan decisions. Like allowing the legislature to enact gerrymandered districts. And allowing a candidate to remove his name from the ballot after the deadline for removal...perhaps because the GOP judges feel that removing RFK, Jr. will help their candidate win the White House.

Let's take action and restore balance and fairness to our courts!
