As 2023 wraps up, we're already hard at work for the big election year ahead, and we need your help. Looking for ways to get involved or new ways to plug in? Exciting developments are afoot at BCDP with a number of new initiatives. If any of the following committees interest you, just reach out to the committee chairs.
Board of Elections Committee
Dive into the details of our local BOE board meetings. Following a brief orientation, become a note-taker so we'll have reliable records of their proceedings. Sign up to join the next meeting!
Hispanic Outreach Committee
Calling on both Spanish and non-Spanish speakers! Our outreach already included canvassing in Hispanic neighborhoods. Committee Chair Carlos Linares is now forging connections with Hispanic community leaders to understand their interests and needs. If you'd like to join this committee, contact Carlos.
Events Committee
If you have experience in event planning, your expertise will be greatly appreciated. We are currently preparing for the January 20th Vote Blue Kickoff event and we will have other projects later on. Contact Events Committee Chair David Perry.
Fundraising Committee
Let's surpass our fundraising records! This election is pivotal, and we're counting on this committee to help us pay for necessities and critical election materials (HQ, sample ballots, candidate slate cards, etc.) along with fun items for events. Reach out to Fundraising Committee Chair Mark Newman.
Letters to the Editor Committee
Fresh on the scene! If you're interested in crafting Letters to the Editor and/or Op Eds, this committee may be your niche. Our inaugural meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 18th, at noon. Contact BCDP Chair Kathie Kline if you're interested in joining us!
A Small Correction - Build Your Precinct
Oops! Last week we left out the numbers of our unorganized precincts. Do you live in precincts 15.1, 19.1, 24.1, 35.1, 37.1, 43.2, 46.1, 47.1, 49.1? Reply to this email and we'll connect you with other local Dems to help you get started.
Action Item
Save the date for our 2024 Kick-off event! On January 20, 2024 we'll gather for an evening of fun, food, and entertainment to set the tone for a successful election year.
Show us your strong support by becoming a sponsor, which will help ensure our success at the polls and ensure the future of our democracy. We're an all-volunteer organization, and we rely on contributions to keep the lights on at headquarters, print materials for canvassing and poll greeting, and all the other activities that are critical to maximizing voter turnout in November.
