Governor Cooper Releases Budget Proposal Emphasizing Investments in Public Education and the Workforce (BCDP Weekly)
As the #1 state for business in the USA two years in a row, we have the formula for success in our high-quality public schools, talented workforce and thriving economy. Governor Cooper’s budget makes the targeted investments we need to secure a bright future for our state while holding the line on taxes.
This budget makes major investments in our strong public schools to make sure they have the resources needed to set up each student for success. It also establishes the rural youth apprenticeship program and invests in job coaching for people with barriers to employment.

Volunteering your time this spring can make a BIG difference in whether Democrats prevail this fall. With absentee voting starting in September, the election is coming up fast. Voters need to see and hear from us!

:: Attend Buncombe County Board of Elections meetings. Your presence is so important -- it demonstrates our support for the board and reduces the potential for election denier influence since they are showing up! Attend as many meetings as you wish. Sign up: Board of Elections Board Meetings.

We're planning a great Coordinated Campaign Launch Party on Saturday, May 18th at 11:30am at BCDP Headquarters. One of our speakers will be Mo Green, candidate for NC Superintendent of Public Instruction! Plans are taking shape for food and fun, with indoor and outdoor space to eat, chat and enjoy. Bring your lawn chair, a dessert to share if you wish, and your enthusiasm!
