We’re going to have a terrific time with DJ Molly Parti while supporting two great causes: kicking off our effort to break the Republican supermajority in the NC Senate in 2026 and raising money for the Buncombe Democrats.
It is vitally important to break the Republican supermajority in the Senate. The Senate remains key to upholding Governor Stein’s vetoes. It took years of work and a lot of funds to break the supermajority in the House, but that is not enough. We MUST break the supermajority in the NC Senate, so 2025 is our year to build the resistance to Republican overreach. Please help us with your ticket and/or donation.
This event will also help the Buncombe Democrats replace the roof on our headquarters building - and add solar panels if we raise enough funds. Senator Mayfield is splitting the proceeds from all ticket sales and sponsorships with the BCDP so we can “raise” the roof! Please buy tickets and donate whatever you can.

Election for BCDP Chair, Provisional Election of 1st Vice-Chair, and State Executive Committee to Fill Vacancies
We are planning an election on February 15th at our Monthly Meeting starting at 10am at BCDP Headquarters. These positions have become vacant due to resignation of Chair Kathie Kline, to whom we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude, or in the case of the SEC the vacancies are due to some of those previously elected being unable to serve.
The BCDP election will be chaired by Second Vice Chair Denise Marecki, as our First Vice Chair -- as of January 16th Interim Chair -- Kristen Robinson is running for the Chair position. Eligible voters for this election will receive notification with relevant information on the process prior to the meeting.
