Spotlight on Braxton Winston, Candidatefor NC Commissioner of Labor  (BCDP Weekly)

Braxton Winston, former Mayor Pro Tem of Charlotte, is a card-carrying union member (IASTE) and proud working person running to advocate for us as our next Commissioner of Labor. It’s time we have a worker representing us at the Department of Labor. Currently, the department is understaffed and doesn’t have the capacity to fulfill all of its duties—a lot of which are safety inspections. There’s also a lack of worker protections for easily identifiable dangers like extreme heat.

Luke Farley, the Republican gunning for this position, begins his platform with “Make Elevators Great Again.” He proudly aligns himself with businesses and corporations instead of working people. He’s not just against a worker’s right to organize, but also against basic stuff like heat protections—calling them “part of a larger liberal agenda” linked to “climate alarmism”. Luke Farley is dangerous for NC workers, so we need to rally behind Braxton Winston this election cycle.

Results from the GOP Primary Runoff Are In: Dems are Running Against Extreme MAGA Candidates!

Runoff results: It’s official. Hal Weatherman is the GOP nominee for Lt. Governor and Dave Boliek is the nominee for State Auditor. In an unsurprising move, Republican runoff voters nominated the most extreme options on the ballot.

Weatherman is a former employee of alt-right poster boy Madison Cawthorn, who’s been advocating for a total abortion ban with no exceptions, while Boliek has focused more on “wokeness” than auditing throughout his entire campaign.

Make no mistake—these two are no moderates.

We need to defeat these extreme candidates! Vote for Democrats Rachel Hunt for Lt. Governor and Jessica Holmes for State Auditor.
