We're In the Home Stretch! (BCDP News)

As Early Voting progresses, we need everyone's help!

Come knock doors with us and get people out to the polls. Due to the aftermath of Helene, outreach was delayed -- and in some places it's still impossible -- so we need to reach all those we can.

It's more important than ever to have these conversations. If you are able, please join us!

Get Out the Vote Where It's Needed Most

Your flexibility and willingness to talk to those who have not yet voted may be the key that brings this race over the finish line. North Carolina cannot be won without Buncombe (and our state's 16 Electoral College votes could determine the future of our country)!

The Harris-Walz Campaign, working with the State and Buncombe County Democratic Parties, is carefully choosing the best areas to reach right now. They are making careful assessments of where we are most needed, so please show up, take a list, and go where they send us.

Our canvassing now centers around checking on people, letting them know where and when to vote, and supporting our wonderful Democratic candidates.

NOW is the time to visit Democrats and Left-Leaning Unaffiliated voters and make sure they VOTE. This election may come down to just a few voters, and YOU can make the difference.

Sign up to knock doors at Harris-Walz & Buncombe Dems Voter Education Canvass · NC Victory 2024.

Take Action

Due to Helene, Voting in Buncombe Currently Lags...Let's Bring Buncombe's Voice Back!

Buncombe County usually represents a large portion of the Democratic votes in North Carolina. Of course, some people still suffering from the effects of Helene are unable to get to the polls. In their honor and in this vitally important year, please make sure you and anyone you know who CAN get to an Early Voting site does so...we need to push extra-hard this year to keep up!

Let's not let Helene stop our voices from being heard throughout North Carolina. We can show that Dems here are Buncombe Strong!

For Poll Volunteers: How to Change Your Shift

To cancel Poll Observer or Poll Greeter shifts, look for your email confirmation from Signup Genius, click on "View Signup" and proceed from there. If you're unable to do this, please email Denise@buncombedems.org and include your full name, what site you were signed up for, and what day. That will save us a great deal of time searching through all the sites and volunteers.

Make Your Plan to Vote!

Make a plan for when you’re going to head to the polls. North Carolina's new Voter ID law is in effect, so take your valid photo ID.  If you lost your photo ID because of Hurricane Helene, indicate "natural disaster" on the ID Exception Form provided at the polls, and you'll still be allowed to vote!

Reach out to friends, family and neighbors, especially those who haven’t voted before, and invite them to join you when you go to the polls. Vote Early by November 2 to avoid precinct restrictions and long lines at the polls. Early Voting will also allow time to solve any problems that may arise.

If you will be out of Buncombe County during Early Voting and on Election Day, you can request an absentee-by-mail ballot. If you return to Buncombe in time to vote in person, please do that and then destroy your absentee ballot.

Rides to the Polls

The Buncombe County Democratic Party wants everyone who wants to vote in person to do so. We have many volunteers offering rides to the polls.

- If you need a ride to vote in Buncombe County, please call Rhona at (828) 231-1365.

- If you live in a public housing community, please look for information on rides being offered every afternoon during Early Voting.
